Fundación Amistad (The Friendship Foundation) is a 501(c)(3), not for profit, organization committed to facilitating and fostering international understanding through academic, scientific, cultural, and professional exchanges between the United States and Cuba.

Fundación Amistad undertakes projects in the following areas:

1. The development of educational exchange programs at the University and secondary levels between the United States and Cuba.
    
2. Exhibitions, seminars, and conferences designed to increase the American and Cuban peoples' understanding and appreciation of each other's culture, history, and society.
    
3. Humanitarian support for the Cuban people by facilitating and forwarding donations of basic necessities such as food, clothing, and medical supplies.
    
4. Professional exchanges between Cuba and the United States related to research in the educational, scientific, medical, cultural and other specialized fields.
    
5. Additional activities that will foster open and bilateral contacts, communication and exchanges between Cuba and the United States.
