Bridges to Culture

Bridges to Culture is a broad range of collaborative programs in the visual and performing arts that exemplify how music and cultural expression can bridge the gap in understanding between the people of Cuba and the United States. Fundación Amistad works with the leadership of many of Cuba’s museums to facilitate their participation in the Museums Association of the Caribbean Conference, which fosters understanding and cooperation between museums and cultural heritage professionals in Cuba and throughout the Caribbean; sponsors American musicians who participate in organized performances, workshops and jam sessions throughout Cuba; organizes exchanges for dancers to go to Havana to experience Cuban music and dance; debuts U.S. classic, archival Cuban music films at festivals in the U.S.; and brings Cuban troupes to audiences in the United States.
